I have finally managed to set up a crochet blog and get it to look just how I wanted it to! I have dabbled with having blogs before but they never seemed to look right to me. So I decided to pay for hosting, I bought a WordPress ‘Theme’ and set this up (after about a week and a steep learning curve!). I’m pleased with how it looks and can’t wait to share my crochet world with you.
I first learnt to crochet when I was about 8 years old, which was many moons ago. My Nanna taught my sister and me and we used to love going to her house and sit with her crocheting. As you can imagine, in those days it was all granny squares, I’m sure if my Nanna was still here today she would be amazed at what we can do with crochet now.
I took up crochet in a more serious way five years ago after my daughter left home. I missed her so much, I needed something to focus my mind on. Since then I have joined my local crochet club, I buy every crochet magazine that comes out and have learnt many new stitches, my favourite one being the crocodile stitch, which is what I use to make really cute slipper boots in. I absolutely love to crochet and I always have something on the go.
By setting up this crochet blog I’m going to share with you all the items I’m making, reviews on all things crochet related, stitches I have learnt and links to free patterns that I find.
Please feel free to comment on any of the posts and to get in touch with me, I would love to hear from you.
I’m off now to write my second post!
