I recently wrote a blog post about the lovely pattern I bought from Pauline Fitzpatrick for ladies crochet fingerless gloves, which I had made in the wool recommended, which was West Yorkshire Spinners Fusion. Although I really liked this wool and the colours were gorgeous, I did find that I wasted a bit of the wool when I had to match up the colour for the second glove. So I decided to make some in plain colours to see how they looked and I must say, I really like them! Here are a few of the colours I made.

Ladies Crochet Fingerless Gloves
I did prefer making the plain coloured gloves as they were easier and quicker to do and there was no wastage of the yarn. I made these gloves in Stylecraft Special Aran yarn, which is 100% acrylic. I love Stylecraft yarn, it is so soft, lovely to work with and there are so many colours to choose from! I also think that the cable pattern on the back of the gloves shows up better on the plain colours.

Raspberry Colour
I am thinking of making some of these gloves in tweedy colours, which I think will look good and I’m also on the lookout for some variegated yarn with a short colour change, which I’m hoping will be easier to match up and there will be less yarn wastage.
- Gold Colour
- Cream Colour
I would be interested to hear what you think of these gloves and which colours you prefer. My next blog post will be about the beautiful buttoned Cowls I am currently making, in the softest, most luxurious alpaca wool I have recently bought! I will also be adding a link to the free pattern I found for it.

Aww thank you so much for your very kind comment, I really appreciate it. It’s nice to know that I’m not actually talking to myself, haha! You are the first person to comment on it, apart from my sister.
