Recently I was honoured to be asked to do a pattern test for this gorgeous crochet baby bear bonnet. The brilliant Nicola Robins is the designer and has a fantastic blog called ‘A Yarny Robin’.
The pattern is very well designed and a little different from other hat patterns I have used. The instructions are very clear, making it easy to follow. There are seven sizes included in the pattern from Newborn up to 5 years old.
A few of us tested the pattern and I was asked to test sizes 3-6 months and 1-2 years.

As you will notice, the hat has two little ears, which have to be sewn on. On Nicola’s blog she has a great idea for making sure the ears are in the right place by putting the hat on a balloon. Well, I have to admit, I am petrified of balloons so I didn’t do this! Instead, it took me about four attempts to sew them in the right place! Haha.

After we all sent our feedback to Nicola, she adjusted the very few minor errors we found, mainly typo’s and launched the cute ‘Baby Bear Bonnet’ pattern for sale.
You can buy the pattern on Etsy and Ravelry, I will put the link at the bottom of the page.
I really enjoyed the pattern testing and hope to do some more in the future, it’s a great way to see what designer’s are coming up with.
Hope you have a go at making this cute little hat, you will love the pattern.
As a thank you to Nicola for sending the pattern to me, I said I would write a blog post about it and help promote it. I am not affiliated with this, just helping out.
